The Golden Age of Harry Potter

Let's start with the first game in the series, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." This game, based on the first book, was released for the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC way back in 2001. Playing as Harry, you'll attend classes, cast spells, and solve puzzles to progress through the story. It's like Hogwarts, but without the homework (or the actual magic, sadly). But the game really captures the spirit of the book and movie, and it's a great introduction to the series.

Quidditch is an important part of the Harry Potter universe, and of course, there's a game dedicated to it. "Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup" was released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube in 2003. Players take on the role of a member of a Quidditch team and must compete in matches to become the Quidditch World Cup champions. The game features all the teams from the Harry Potter books and movies, and it's a lot of fun to play as your favorite team and compete in matches. It's one of our personal favorites of all Harry Potter games.

Next up is "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," the second game in the series, based on the second book. This game was released for the same platforms as the first game. Players take on the role of Harry and must explore Hogwarts, cast spells, and solve puzzles to uncover the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets. This game is a little more challenging than the first, but it's still a lot of fun, and the graphics are improved. Our personal favorite of the first three games.

"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is the third game in the series, based on the third book. This game was released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. Players take on the role of Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they try to free Sirius Black from the wizarding prison of Azkaban. This game is a bit more action-packed than the previous games, and it's a lot of fun to play as all three characters.

Fade of Harry Potter game series

However, as the series progressed with games like "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (2005), "Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix" (2007), "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" (2009), "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" (2010) and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" (2011), it began to fade and did not receive the same level of support and excitement from fans. These later games in the series were not as well-received by fans and critics, but they still offer a chance to dive into the wizarding world for Harry Potter super fans.

Hogwarts Legacy - new era

The Harry Potter community is eagerly awaiting the release of "Hogwarts Legacy," an action role-playing game set in the 1800s at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Fans are hoping that this game will be the resurgence that the series needs, with players able to create their own character and attend Hogwarts, learning magic and uncovering a hidden conspiracy. The game is set to release on February 10, 2023, and the excitement amongst the fans is palpable. To add to the excitement, we are giving away one free copy of the game to one lucky winner in THIS drop right now. Don't miss out on your chance to make the end of this winter fantastic and unforgettable by getting your hands on "Hogwarts Legacy."

As we can see the Harry Potter video game series is a magical journey through the Wizarding World, each game is unique and offers different gameplay mechanics and experiences. The first three games and the Quidditch game are our personal favorites, but each game in the series is worth playing. The release of Hogwarts Legacy is just around the corner and we can't wait to see how it will capture the magic of the Harry Potter universe.
