What's this Twitch Hype Train thing all about?
First, let's provide you with a little instruction. To launch a Twitch Hype Train, several community members at once must subscribe, gift a subscription or donate Bits (at least 100 pieces), and all this must happen within five minutes.
The specific number of events that must occur within this time limit in order to launch a Hype Train is configurable: the minimum value is 3 while the maximum value is 25. So if your channel is small, it’s better to minimize it. When the required value is reached, an indicator will appear at the top of the chat - a Hype-o-Meter, as it fills up, the level of the Hype Train will increase.
The Twitch Hype Train has five levels, each requiring a fixed number of new subscriptions and/or Bits to reach. Difficulty levels are customizable too. At the minimum level, 4 subscriptions and/or 1600 Bits will be enough (to fill the first level of the Hype Train). And the most difficult level is “Insane”, it will require as many as 20 subscriptions or 10,000 Bits.
What rewards can you get out of Twtich Hype Train
The Twitch Hype Train passengers get emotes which are distributed randomly, one piece per person. There’s a set of five twitch unique emotes for each level. To become a passenger, you must make a contribution in the form of a subscription or a minimum donation of 100 Bits. You can’t get the same emote again. By the way, Twitch regularly updates rewards, so those interested will always have an incentive to get something new.
Also remember about the Twitch Bonus emotes, the sixth reward for each of the levels, but the only thing is it’s available only if the streamer has set the difficulty level to "Insane".
Another bonus for your community is the Hype Train Conductor badge. It goes to the passenger who made the highest contribution to the Hype-o-Meter. By the way, this title can be taken away on the next Hype Train. Therefore, there can be two Conductors in the chat, the current one and the former one and they will differ in color. An interesting thing is that one person can possess both of these badges.
How to use a Hype Train to increase your income?
Well first of all don't ignore it. Twitch will kindly make the highlight of this event for you, and you should just warm up the excitement of the audience in every possible way. Arrange a game of a sort with them. The desire to support you and increase the Hype Train level will encourage the audience to make higher contributions. On top of that, people get upset when the Hype Train gets stuck in a step or two from the next level. So don’t hesitate to ask the audience to take the Hype Train to its final destination.
To motivate your audience, you can offer an additional reward after level 5 is reached. You could play a game with your passengers for one, or invite them to choose the next stream’s topic. Overall, here’s a plenty of room for imagination.
